In 2004, Hella Jongerius designed a series of plates for porcelain factory Nymphenburg. For these plates, she selected 5 animals from the 700 kept in the archives of Nymphenburg. The figurative painted animals have been combined with hand-painted abstract patterns from Nymphenburg that were used in previous series.
A celebration of the animal collection found in the archives of Nymphenburg. The blown-up decorative patterns, which partly cover the sculpted animals, were originally used on the company’s cups and saucers.
