Kit Miles

birds in chains | burnished copper

One of our first designs in the collection introduced by founder Kit Miles shortly after a period of study at London infamous Royal College of Art. Birds In Chains demonstrates Kit’s aptitude for capturing and portraying the strange beauty in nature and manages to present it in a lyrical and abundant display of color and hand-drawn imagery. This motif serves both as a botanical and a stripe, pulling the eye through space as the branches serpentine and minder upwards. Colour gradations loom in and out of hue, shifting from pink to teal, copper to greys, royal blues with glimmers of ochre gold. Perfect for the contemporary space and fitting for a period Restoration looking to bring modernity.
