Drawn completely by hand in his London studio, Kit’s inspirations as always begin with drawing. ‘I was inspired by the idea of gates and the promise of a new realm that could lay beyond, an highly decorative gate felt like the perfect concept for a wallpaper, a floating and surreal world of metal work and unexpected image combinations’. The design came to light when Kit was pondering the majesty of the solar system against the foreground of the Greenwich Park gates in London. Both, he says, ‘speak of our human drive to discovery and peering into the unknown’
