Artist Babs Haenen creates organic vessels with a dynamic inner choreography through her own developed technique from colored porcelain slabs. Her complex works are composed of various layers, creating colorful porcelain sculptures.
This work hovers above the line of art and craft, drawing its power from both.
For the Scholar's Rock 'Putnam Camp' pieces, the artist was inspired by visiting St.Huberts, NY, a retreat in the Adirondacks with mammoth mountains. The camp is best known for hosting Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud, who both stayed there together at the same time.
