Lucas Zito

Lucas Zito is a Paris-based designer whose work explores the relationship between materials, process, and function. After graduating from Design Academy Eindhoven, he returned to Paris in 2019 to develop a practice shaped by experimentation and a curiosity for how things are made.

Rather than starting with a fixed idea, his projects often evolve through the making itself. Unexpected results, small imperfections, and material discoveries are an essential part of the process, often leading the work in directions that couldn't have been planned.

His interest in digital fabrication, particularly 3D printing, grew from a desire to rethink both production and sustainability. By carefully considering how materials are sourced, used, and recycled, he aims to create objects that are both functional and long-lasting. This approach led to the Buoy collection in 2021, which brought his work to an international audience.

Today, his practice continues to balance technical research with an intuitive approach to making, always searching for a natural equilibrium between aesthetics, function, and responsible production.
