Lucas Zito

Lucas Zito is a Paris-based designer whose work explores the connection between materials, process, and function. After graduating from Design Academy Eindhoven, he returned to Paris in 2019 to develop a practice formed by experimentation and a curiosity for how things are made.

Rather than starting with a fixed idea, his projects often evolve through the making process itself. Unexpected results, small imperfections, and material discoveries being an essential part of the process, often leading the work in surprising directions.

His interest in digital fabrication, particularly 3D printing, grew from an ambition to rethink both production and sustainability. Carefully considering how materials are sourced, used, and recycled, his aim is to create objects that are both functional and long-lasting. This very approach led to the Buoy collection in 2021, which brought his work to an international audience.

Today, his practice continues to balance technical research with an intuitive approach to making, always searching for a natural balance between aesthetics, function, and responsible production.
