As envisioned by the designer Umberto Riva, the A.D.A. lamp takes shape, as often is the case, through inspiration from other forms. Throughout the design and engineering phases, the lamp undergoes gradual transformations and simplifications until it attains its final appearance, reminiscent of the archetype of a table lamp. The lamp's anatomy is straightforward, consisting of two truncated cones connected by a plate. Its structural integrity is derived from the material used: tinted fiberglass. When illuminated from within, the fiberglass becomes translucent, offering a glimpse of the fibers composing it and imparting texture to the emitted light.

Named A.D.A., the lamp establishes a parallel between its form and the phonetics of the word. Comprising two A's, Ada stands as the briefest symmetrical feminine name, mirroring the geometrical play on the same letter evident in the lamp's two conical structures.
