The Beam Boxes were developed from the idea of using the cross beams that connect the panels as pivot points for the cabinet doors. During the design process, a more fundamental principle emerged: the dimensions of each cabinet are determined by the size of the beams themselves. The beam width and thickness define the cabinet's height, width, and depth, while the overall proportions can be adjusted by varying the number of beams used.

Each cabinet is constructed without cutting the beams lengthwise: the beams are only cut to length. This approach preserves the integrity of the reclaimed timber, which may contain embedded nails or other natural characteristics.

Every cabinet is made individually, with its dimensions shaped by the unique size of the reclaimed beams. Each piece is fitted with hinges and a closing mechanism and finished in a selected colour. The result is a series of cabinets in which no two pieces are exactly alike, reflecting the natural variation in the reclaimed wood and the chosen finish.
