A unique sideboard made from stable wood and with a wax finish. The sideboard has two hidden doors and six drawers. The brass hinges were specially designed for this cabinet and custom-made in Piet Hein Eek's own workshop.
An acquaintance of Piet's offered him this stable wood. Incredibly thick wood. The wood was used in such a way that it was not planed but left rough. So there are rough and flat sections. The wood has been cut into square blocks and arranged in an attractive composition. It is striking that the saw cut is almost invisible. It took Piet's carpenter at least 300 hours to make this cabinet.
