Piet Hein Eek designed the ‘Lasserie’ (‘Welding series’) as a counterpoint to the perfectly clean-cut aluminium furniture. A surplus of heat during the welding causes a ripple in the steel plates. Piet Hein Eek uses this effect to achieve imperfection, as a conscious choice. The seat and back rest are covered with desktop. Different colour combinations possible.
