Meatgrinded Chair

The Meatgrinded Chair was created as part of Willem’s graduation project, Willem’s Ceramics Atelier.

The chair is made from hollow ceramic tubes, shaped using a modified old meat grinder. Stoneware clay is used, which makes it possible to fire the pieces at high temperatures. This gives the ceramic the strength needed to make the chair both functional and durable.

The making process and the machine play an important role in the final shape, giving each tube its own character.
