Once Piet Hein Eek had a container full of wood from water tower reservoirs sent over from New York. The as-wide-as-thick table and chairs, made from oak had a little brother in the form of a cedar armchair. The width of the wood is practically the same as the thickness of the beams, and the patina from their time on the roofs is clearly visible. They also make a dresser from the cedar beams. By using the various sized beams as starting point and adjusting every dresser accordingly, they can keep the amount of waste material to a bare minimum.
