Please read the story by Piet Hein Eek about this beautiful project:
We had a container full of wood from water tower reservoirs sent over from New York. The as-wide-as-thick table and chairs, made from oak, will now have a little brother in the form of a cedar armchair. The width of the wood is practically the same as the thickness of the beams, and the patina from their time on the roofs is clearly visible. We will also make a dresser from the cedar beams. By using the various sized beams as starting point and adjusting every dresser accordingly, we can keep the amount of waste material to a bare minimum.
This is a project of Piet Hein Eek together with artist Diederick Kraaijeveld.
