The Oak Display Cabinet was introduced from a previous oak cabinet design from 1993 meant for limited edition. As this edition sold, Piet Hein Eek then produced a variation of the cabinet, inspired by the Philips cabinet. The Oak Display Cabinet has been designed as an elegant form that avoids the need for hinged doors through the use of glass sheets fastened into grooves created in the wood frame structure.
