Asako Kawachi is a contemporary Japanese glass artist, born in 1991. She first studied social and cultural anthropology at university (Bachelor of Arts), and despite that background, she later chose the path of glass art. She received her glass education at the Toyama City Institute of Glass Art and later continued as an apprentice artist at the glass workshop of Kanazawa Utatsuyama Kogei Kobo.

Kawachi creates hand-blown glass objects (glasses, vases, sculptures) that often evoke a poetic, dreamlike atmosphere. Her work is not merely functional; it is sculptural and aesthetic. By blowing glass and manipulating color and form, she creates objects that resemble “thoughts or dreams solidified in glass.” The colors, shapes, and the way the glass catches light give her objects a soft, organic appearance.

As each piece is handmade, making it a unique and one-of-a-kind product.
