Founded in Barcelona in 1987, nanimarquina reimagines the rug as a contemporary design object. The brand blends modern creativity with traditional craftsmanship, working with international designers and skilled artisans to produce high-quality, design-driven textiles rooted in cultural heritage.

The Medina collection reconnects with the original spirit of rugs, where function, texture, and community were inseparable. Inspired by ancestral kilims, the collection draws from a time when rugs were central to daily life: offering warmth, protection, and a shared ground for living. This legacy informs a design language that is restrained yet deeply expressive, where materiality and use take precedence over ornament. Pattern design by Nani Marquina guides the collection’s classical aesthetic, which is realized through handcrafted production in northern Pakistan using traditional kilim techniques. The result is a modern transformation of heritage, translating cultural memory into timeless, contemporary design.
