Since 2009, directly after Erik de Bree graduated from Rietveld academy, he started working in series to explore certain subject in it's full broadness.

In 2012 he was looking for new ways to present his works. He started with the idea of wallpapering his gallery, ripped the wallpaper again and presented his work on that surface. This is what inspired the 'Wallpaper Paintings' serie.
