Dirk Duif’s practice bridges design and storytelling, driven by a fascination with objects and their expressive potential. Working primarily with metal and wood, he builds each piece from individual sheets of material, fused into sculptural, fluid forms. His work evolves through process and intuition rather than fixed dimensions, celebrating individuality, material honesty, and creative freedom.

Mirror View 1 reflects Duif’s sculptural approach to functional objects. Conceived as a singular piece, the mirror goes beyond pure reflection, functioning as a spatial object with a strong physical presence.

Each piece is crafted through a hands-on making process, resulting in a unique object that balances function and sculptural character.
